For millions of years, animals have been killing and eating other animals. And over that time, both predators* and prey have developed some amazing ways of hunting or defending themselves. Animals use teeth, claws, poison—even electricity—to get a meal or escape danger. And a few creatures, such as sharks and crocodiles, sometimes see humans as food. Luckily, most animals don’t want to eat us. But if we are not careful, many of them can still be deadly.
